Meet Derby

CUTENESS ALERT

Derby came to SSRI because his owner was put into an assisted living placement and was no longer able to take care of him.  Unfortunately, his owner struggled with hording issues and did not have the finances nor the wherewithal to take proper care of him. 

Derby is the sweetest boy.  He can be timid when you first meet him but is coming into himself and showing more and more of his personality each day.  He is crate trained, house trained, microchipped and up to date on all of his vaccines.  He gets along with other dogs but not with cats.  He Is almost 10 years old but is physically strong and goes for a 1.5 mile walk each day with his foster brother.  He loves sitting in his foster dad’s lap and get his daily dose of love and affection.  He also loves to be outside (no matter how cold it is) and has to be called in (because it’s cold where he is now living).
