Meet McCabe - Adopted

McCabe or "Mac" as everyone calls him is a small liver/white (35#) springer.  He came to SSRI after his owner unexpectedly passed away.  He was an only dog for 7 years.  He gets along well with his 2 springer foster buddies and other dogs he meets on his walks.  His other springer buddies don't mind that Mac is a lap dog and has to be seated right next to his human.  Because he is so attached to his human we think he should be an only dog again with no children.

Mac knows all his commands; sit, down, stay and off leash recall is excellent.  Walks perfect on a leash.  He is not fond of the vacuum cleaner or other items that make alot of noise.  He is getting better and just backs up but in the beginning he would run and hide and I would have to go looking for him.  He wants to go everywhere with his human.  He is too small to jump into the back of a SUV but stands up with his paws on the back so you can lift him up.  Even though he is always ready for a car ride he gets anxious in the car.  We have been working on his car skills and they are getting better but he still needs work.  He needs to be crated or buckled in the car so he doesn't get overly anxious.

If you are looking for a smaller springer he is quite the prize.
